I had no intentions of doing a styled shoot for Halloween. But after attending the 2020 Terri Cage North Texas Equine Photography Workshop I was inspired to be creative and take the reins of bringing my vision to life. So, with just two days of planning, I am pleased to say I captured exactly what I had envisioned!

The logistics of this session were quite comical. I took my non-equestrian co-worker, Katie, who lives for Halloween and paired her with Monaco, a massive KWPN stallion. I just knew Katie's esthetic was too perfect to pass up. We had Monaco's owner, Brittany Kristoffersen of Kristoffersen Sporthorses, off to the side with Monaco on a long longe line for safety the entire time but even with all the crazy things going on her handled it like a champ. Behind the scenes were four people total to help ensure Monaco was posed and had his ears up while I instructed Katie what to do so I could get the shots I wanted.

This is a great example of why so many extra hands are needed. I can't thank Brittany, her husband, and my two assistants Kait and Kennedy for all their help! I'm already brainstorming next year's Halloween styled shoot!
